Who Is God Anyway, How Can I Be Sure I'm Saved?

This was a tall order for me but not to be ignored. What's important is that we only know a limited part of God because He lives in a different realm then we do and we cannot comprehend that realm with our physical senses. Angels are his immediate family, thousands of angels. Lucifer is one of those angels. He was a very special one, which I will describe later in this article. God called him perfect. God calls the angels his sons. How do we fit into this picture? God decided to create a human family for Himself. He planned how he was going to do it from beginning to end by writing it down in the Word of God the Bible before He actually did it. He is all knowing. He knew what was going to happen and made provisions for all possibilities to make sure that he could control whatever circumstance arose. Every angel and every human being is accountable to Him because He is ultimately the highest authority because there is only One God.

This God is not an angel like Lucifer. God created angels, as He created this planet and everything in the universe. He is the Almighty. He always existed, has infinite knowledge, is all knowing, omnipresent, eternal and self-sustaining. He is creative. He is love and he is faithful, full of mercy, truthfulness and has unlimited divine attributes. Above all he is righteous, a true judge and lawgiver.

He loves peace, patience and comfort and is the source of all blessings. God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, One God, which is not really comprehensible. He is three personages in One God. God
is a Spirit who is the Father personage with attributes and a personality which can be known by human beings. He also came as a fully human being in the body of Jesus Christ, whom people touched and communicated with; whom were healed and resurrected from the dead. He is now here on earth as another personality in the form of a Holy Spirit who resides in the hearts of born again believers.

People who repent and identify with God instead of the devil and believe that Jesus was the Christ promised in the Old Testament and believe that the Word of God is indeed God's Word are sealed by God and receive the Holy Ghost as a partner to overcome this world. The Holy Ghost is the one who enables a person to live instead of die. Once one has the Holy Spirit, there is no death. The body is laid to rest until it is resurrected at the Rapture. Jesus plans to snatch us up with our bodies before the tribulation begins. Christ Jesus literally plans to come back to Israel and place Lucifer and his followers in chains during Armageddon at the end of the tribulation which will be described in the latter part of this article.

God created all that we can perceive and he gave the human Adam authority over the earth and all that it contains. God only demanded obedience to one command from Adam that he should not eat from a certain tree, that it would cause Adam and his posterity to die. That is how death and sin came about. Adam through his wife Eve disobeyed God. This was the opportunity Lucifer had been waiting for. Adam had authority over all the earth and Lucifer wanted that for himself.

Because Adam disobeyed, he inadvertently gave Lucifer authority over himself and his children and our struggle with Lucifer began. Lucifer figured if he could get rid of God's Word, He could win the throne over the humans at least for a while. God knew what was going to happen if He gave Adam a free will. He had written his plan word for word. He had even written Lucifer's condemnation in Isaiah and Ezekiel. All we have to do to understand what is going on in this world is to study the Bible, the blueprint.

The reason God condemned Lucifer forever was betrayal while Adam had been lied to by Lucifer and believed the lie, which was not an outright betrayal. Adam would have another chance with God because God is merciful. God gave Adam a way back into God's graces. All Adam had to do was to start walking with God again which was proven with Enoch seven generations later. He walked with God and God took him up to Himself.

Adam and his posterity now labored under the sin factor. Lucifer was lording it over him and confronted God accusing Adam and Eve and their posterity of sin. Under God's law demanded that there was no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. God eventually under the supervision of a priesthood, set up a complicated procedure of sacrificing certain animals for certain sins and over time thousands of animals had to be killed for blood sacrifices. The procedure was almost too complicated for Israelis to deal with correctly. This solution was a temporary one because animals were not clean either. They were now under Lucifer's authority too and affected by the sin factor.

To get a permanent eternal solution God demanded a perfect blood sacrifice, which was not contaminated with sin. He set up an impossibility to show that He was a supernatural God and planned to solve the problem.
In the murder of Abel, Adam's good son, by Cain, the bad son, we find out that evil has the upper hand here.
Because God had plans of living on this planet, first as the Father (Spirit) in the Old Testament and then as Son in human form, it required a priesthood to keep Him isolated from the rest of the world in the Old Testament (God cannot come near sin). God's plan also required a King (royal blood) for the New Testament to be fulfilled as written. Jesus Christ, God's Son, was to be a descendant of King David. God Since Adam's good son was dead, God appointed another male child for Eve who was good and remained alive. Enoch was a descendant of Seth, Adam's third son and so was Noah.

In general evil prevailed, even the angels got involved with the humans and adulterated women and they had children who were giants. Humans got so contaminated with sin that God had to call an end to it. He decided to drown the world except for one family, Noah's family. Male and female pair of all flesh plus Noah's whole family was placed in the ark, built in obedience to God. It rained for 40 days and the rest of the world literally drowned.
Afterward God promised he would never use those measures again. The next time it would be fire, which hasn't happened yet. From Noah after a number of generations came Abram whose name was changed by God to Abraham and Israel was born. With Abraham God made a blood covenant personally, that Abraham would be the Father of nations forever, which meant that humans were going to be saved and that meant God would somehow provide the perfect sinless blood sacrifice to cover human sins forever.

Abraham was 100 years old and had no children, his wife was barren, how could he be the father of nations. Sarah his wife thought she could take care of that and had her handmaiden have a son by Abraham. This son is the forerunner of today's Palestinians who are struggling for Jerusalem to become solely their city. God by means of a miracle appointed a son for Sarah, after which she conceived and had Isaac. From Isaac came Jacob. God is known to be the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. From Jacob came the twelve tribes of Israel. One of the tribes named Levites became the Levitical Aaronic Priesthood which was going to be the security needed for God to dwell among the Jews who were the apple of His eye at one point. Under the guidance of the priesthood a procedure for animal sacrifices was established for Israel to be exonerated from sins temporarily. The sin factor again outweighed the good, which made God withdraw at a certain point. His nation of Israel just would not stick with Him and God finally turned His back on them completely. He divorced Israel and called her a prostitute.

Strange as it may seem to us since God cannot accept sin, he plans to remarry the prostitute at the end of the tribulation. He plans to exchange their hearts with a new heart and they will become a people for Him in spite of themselves. What God left behind when he left was his Aaronic priesthood which Continued to administer the animal blood sacrifices for sins. This priesthood maintained until John the Baptist was preaching in the wilderness. He was the son of an Aaronic priest. The Aaronic priesthood could only be obtained by being born into it. Jesus wanted to acknowledge the Aaronic Priesthood and allowed John the Baptist to baptize Himself even though He had never sinned. Baptisms were for the remission of sins. The Aaronic Priesthood was about to be discontinued. It had no eternal value.

An angel appeared to Mary, a virgin, "And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:30-33) Again there was the promise of eternal life for humans.

How would that be possible: "And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35) We all know that is what happened. What they did not understand or comprehend is that this child in Mary's womb was God Himself who was going to fulfill the blood covenent He had made with Abraham many years before.

God's plan was to allow men to nail Himself to the cross at Calvary. After He would give up His Ghost, He would allow soldiers to slash his upper body making sure He had really died. This wound then would allow His own blood to be shed for the sins of the world. Because Jesus, God's Son had never sinned He would be sufficient to set the world free from sin forever. We know today that every word that had been written was fulfilled exactly the way it was written. God Himself made sure that it would be by doing it Himself. Halleluiah.

Jesus Christ was without sin because He was God's Son and withstood every temptation the devil set before him. He knew that everyone's salvaton depended on that and He wasn't going to let God (Himself) down. He is not a liar. What God has proven beyond any shadow of doubt is, that He is dependable and means to save us. All we have to do is tell Him that we are sorry about our past disobedient life, that we want the Holy Spirit to come in and take the throne in our hearts to guide us the rest of the way. Without the Holy Spirit there is neither life nor redemption. Rejecting the Holy Spirit is to continue to opt for the devil. We do have that choice because God gave us a free will.

The miracle came on the third day when Jesus was resurrected. He returned to God to be glorified and came back to earth for a number of weeks. His body was the one He had inhabited while ministering to the people. The blood was missing. He showed His disciples that He could still eat and be with them in his usual form. There is no other who can prove resurrection power, Jesus is the only one has eternal life to offer. After Jesus convinced His disciples and others that He was alive and well, He went back to His Father and promised to send a comforter to those He left behind. That promise was fulfilled some weeks later. A number of people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit which was the beginning of the church of born again believers which exists to this day and is waiting to be raptured any day now.

The devil in the meantime is very busy deceiving the majority with lies and physical rewards. He wants God to get as smaller human family as possible. He knows his days are numbered and that it's over for him at Armageddon. Jesus plans to put him and his cohorts in chains till the end of the millennium when he gets a little more time to test people and then it is over for good. God has a lake of fire prepared for him to contain him forever. One realizes when one reads the Bible that almost everything has been fulfilled exactly as it was written. The only events left are the fulfillment of Lucifer's sentence after Christ Jesus resurrects and raptures the Church to live with God for eternity.

There is no other God, so we can be sure that no one can upset the applecart and change our destiny. We can totally depend on God's Word that it will continue to manifest itself until it is completely fulfilled. We have the following promise from Him. ".. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. (Revelation 21:4,5)

There are other promises, which I can't discuss because this letter to you would become endless. In Ezekiel 28:13 Lucifer is described. "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in
thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set
thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Ezekiel 28:13-15)
This is God's accusation of Satan: By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more. (Ezekiel 28:16-19)

In Isaiah 14 God's sentence for his betrayal is confirmed: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; [That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; [that] opened not the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, [even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, [and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, [and] slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD. I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts. The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, [so] shall it stand: That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. This [is] the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this [is] the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul [it]? and his hand [is] stretched out, and who shall turn it back? (Isaiah 14:12-27)

As you can see there is no mercy as glorious as God's for us. We would be utter fools not to accept the sacrifice of His own Son and His Son's New Testament, which is our inheritance. We are to be reconsidered as God's sons and daughters, perfect in His sight through His Son Jesus Christ. What could be more glorious then to be loved by God for eternity. Ask God to come into your life today, it may be too late tomorrow. He wants you for His family forever.
