Born Again

From the Old Testament this prophecy evolved: " Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;  Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his  name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14) "  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:  When  as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came  together,  she  was found with child of the Holy Ghost. And  she  shall bring  forth  a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:  for  he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:18,21)

" And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God  was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen  of angels,  preached  unto the Gentiles, believed on in  the world, received up into glory. (1 Timothy 3:16) "  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but  he that  cometh  after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I  am  not worthy  to  bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy  Ghost,  and [with] fire: (Matthew 3:11)

" Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to  be baptized of him." (Matthew 3:13) "  And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway  out of  the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and  he saw  the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting  upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17)

" There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no  man can  do these miracles that thou doest, except God be  with  him.
Jesus  answered  and said unto him, Verily, verily,  I  say  unto thee,  Except a man be born again, he cannot see the  kingdom  of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he  is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except  a man  be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot  enter  into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that  which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not  that  I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where  it listeth,  and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not  tell whence  it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that  is born of the Spirit." (John 3:1-8)

" God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him  must  worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) " For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just  for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death  in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were  disobedient,  when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days  of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is,  eight souls  were  saved  by water. The like  figure  whereunto  [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the  filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." (1 Peter 3:18-22)

" In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with  God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) "  In him was life; and the life was the light of  men.  And the  light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended  it not." (John 1:4,5) "  [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man  that cometh into the world." (John 1:9)

" And this is the condemnation, that light is come into  the world,  and men loved darkness rather than light,  because  their deeds were evil." (John 3:19) "  He was in the world, and the world was made by  him,  and the world knew him not." (John 1:10) " And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you  another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [Even] the Spirit of  truth;  whom the world cannot receive, because it  seeth  him not, neither knoweth him: but ye (speaking to his disciples) know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16-17)

"  But  as many as received him, to them gave  he  power  to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his  name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,  nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh,  and
dwelt  among  us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as  of  the only  begotten  of the Father,) full of grace and  truth."  (John 1:12-14) "  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that  the promise by faith (belief) of Jesus Christ might be given to  them that believe. But before faith (belief) came, we were kept  under the law, shut up unto the faith (belief) which should  afterwards be  revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster  [to  bring us]  unto  Christ, that we might be justified (proven)  by  faith (belief). But after that faith (belief) is come, we are no longer under  a  schoolmaster. For ye are all the children  of God  by faith  (belief) in Christ Jesus.

"For as many of you as have  been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male  nor female:  for  ye  are all one in Christ Jesus.  And  if  ye  [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to  the promise. (Galatians 3:22-29) "  For  by  one Spirit are we all baptized  into one  body, whether  [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or  free; and  have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1  Corinthians 12:13)

" Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment  came]  upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification (proof) of  life. For  as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,  so  by the  obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover  the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded,  grace  did much more abound: That as sin hath  reigned  unto death,  even  so  might grace reign  through  righteousness  unto
eternal  life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

"What shall we  say  then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know  ye not,  that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ  were baptized  into  his death? Therefore we are buried  with  him  by baptism  into death: that like as Christ was raised up  from  the
dead  by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk  in newness of life". (Romans 5:18-6:4)

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made ys free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." (Galatians 5:1) "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

"Seeing ye have purified your sould in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren. [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently: not of  corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the  word  of God,  which  liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh  [is]  as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth,  and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word  of the  Lord  endureth for ever. And this is the word which  by  the gospel is preached unto you." (1 Peter 1:18-25)

" Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God;  and every  one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." (1  John 4:7) "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this  is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our  faith (belief)." (1 John 5:4) "  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye  might have  peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but  be  of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) " We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but  he that  is  begotten of God keepeth himself, and  that  wicked  one toucheth him not." (1 John 5:18)

"  Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not:  whosoever  sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is  righteous.  He that committeth sin is of the devil;  for  the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. " Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of  God." (1 John 3:6-9)

" Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our  sorrows: yet  we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God,  and  afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:4-5) "  Who  his own self bare our sins in his own  body  on  the tree,  that we, being dead to sins, should live  unto  righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

" Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed  unto sin,  but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Let  not sin  therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey  it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members [as]  instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as  those  that are alive from the dead, and  your  members  [as] instruments  of  righteousness unto God. For sin shall  not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What  then? shall we sin, because we are not under the  law,  but under  grace?  God  forbid. Know ye not, that to  whom  ye  yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

" But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin,  but ye  have  obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine  which  was delivered  you.  Being  then made free from sin,  ye became  the servants  of righteousness. I speak after the manner of  men  because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members  servants to uncleanness and to iniquity  unto  iniquity; even  so  now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death. But  now being  made  free from sin, and become servants to God,  ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For  the wages  of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is]  eternal  life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:11-23)

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the  world:  and this  is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our  faith (belief). Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and  blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by  water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." (1 John 5:4-6) " But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his  (Jesus's) side,  and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw [it] bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe." (John 19:34-35)

"  For there are three that bear record in heaven,  the  Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  And there  are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and  the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." (1 John 5:7-8) "  Now  when they heard [this], they were pricked  in  their heart,  and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles,  Men [and]  brethren,  what shall we do? Then Peter  said  unto  them,
Repent,  and  be baptized every one of you in the name  of  Jesus Christ  for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the  gift of  the  Holy  Ghost.

"For the promise is unto you,  and to  your children,  and  to all that are afar off, [even] as many  as  the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and  exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this  untoward  generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:  and the  same day there were added [unto them] about  three  thousand souls.  And they continued steadfastly in the apostles'  doctrine and  fellowship,  and in breaking of bread, and in  prayers.

"And fear  came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were  done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things  common; And sold their possessions and goods, and  parted them  to all [men], as every man had need. And they,  continuing daily  with  one accord in the temple, and  breaking  bread  from house  to house, did eat their meat with gladness and  singleness of  heart, Praising God, and having favour with all  the  people. And  the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.(Acts 2:37-47)
