The question here under consideration was, I have a disease which has made it impossible for me to bear children. I have undergone various procedures and nothing has worked. Now the doctor has gathered my eggs to do another procedure and my husband and I are scared. We are believers..
You have posed is a tough question because I am a woman and very guilty of running ahead of the Lord when I was young and brought much tragedy upon myself because of it. I want you to know I don't take this conversation lightly. All I wanted was as many as ten children. I know the feelings and frustration you are dealing with in the depth of my soul, but I also know that all the pain that has accumlated in that very spot, has come from not waiting on the Lord.
Did you know that the most fabulous women in the Bible all started out unable to conceive? "But Sarai [Abraham's wife] was barren; she [had] no child." (Genesis 11:30) Following is her SON. "And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived." (Genesis 25:21) "And when the LORD saw that Leah [was] hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel [was] barren." (Genesis 29:31) Do you see how God is teaching by not giving what the men wanted? But Rachel was the one he loved and wanted a child by. God later opened Rachel's womb too."And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were [now] well stricken in years." (Luke 1:7) You know they all conceived in the Lord's time. They waited on the Lord.
Following is a Scripture about the importance of waiting on the Lord instead of fulfilling our own lusts. Adam wanted to be a father to Eve's children and set God aside: "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:19) The struggle is between our own will and God's will. "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" (Romans 6:16)
"He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done." (Matthew 26:42) Jesus did not want to die, He loved His disciples and loved making people well but God has other plans. If His Son, who was God, had to submit, who are we, that we think that we can get around it.
Jesus only gave us one prayer which is in Luke 11:2 "And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth." (Luke 11:2)
"So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Genesis 1:27) "But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." (Luke 12:7)
There maybe two reasons why you are in the situation you are in. One is that God wants to perform a miracle in you and the other maybe the times we are in are not conducive to child rearing.
Today many babies experience trauma even during childbirth. My oldest grandchild started breathing too soon and had pneumonia. Another was in intensive care for a week with needles poring medication into his body for a week because the doctor had neglected to treat the mother correctly before the delivery. My little granddaughter could not see one of eyes was out of control. She already wears thick glasses and had several operations.. I can go on. To me it is a sign of the times.
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. (Luke 23:29) Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? (Luke 23:30,31)
I believe in miracles, I have had many. Just in case we are not at the threshold of being raptured and I'll guarantee you the Lord will bless you, if you wait on Him and let your husband be your guide along with the Lord because he is your head and the Lord is His head.
"Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered [them] to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God." (1 Corinthians 11:2,3)
We'll be praying for you and your husband, asking for the Holy Spirit to guide you two, to make a decision which is within the will of God, so He can bless you with the choicest blessings..
